Soyo Yamagishi of Yamagishi Shokado was awarded a prize from the Minister of Education, Culture, Sport, Science and Technology at the “26th Exhibition for Beautiful Lacquer in Japanese Culture” in 2018, sponsored by the Association of Lacquer Industries in Japan.

This is not an awarded “Shin Shitsu” artwork, but an incense case depicting a falcon bird.

“Exhibition for Beautiful Lacquer in Japanese Culture” is the most well-known among other “lacquer” exhibitions. In February 2019, a commendation ceremony will be organized. I plan to upload awarded artworks separately.

Soyo Yamagishi has been awarded with a prize from the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in the 23rd Exhibition and another prize of Secretary of Forestry Agency in the 24th Exhibition.
