Yamagishi Shokado’s exhibition, “Shin Shitsu” artworks, began Saturday, February 23, at Kuroda Toen, Ginza.
“Shin Shitsu” is unprecedented and a unique technique of art, that does not use any wooden materials for its core, unlike conventional lacquerware. Pure Japanese lacquer material is used for all the parts including “core,” surface and any other detailed parts. (For the details of Shin Shitsu, please click here)
You can select and appreciate as many as 50 lacquerware items such as Buddhist statures, tea bowls, cups, and dolls.
The exhibition is open from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM until Thursday, February 28 2019. Monday is a regular holiday.
